Ravichandran Ashwin

CSK went big to return their former hero and local lad Ravichandran Ashwin. They spent INR 9.75 Crore to bring back the former player of the IPL 2025 season. However, the former India international player disappointed everyone with his disappointing performance this season. In 9 matches, Ashwin picked only 7 wickets and conceded runs at over 9 economy rate. Also the performance by Noor Ahmad will play a part in Ashwin’s exclusion from CSK setup. The off-spin bowler is already considered to be part of CSK released players list for IPL 2026 season.

Rahul Tripathi

There were lots of expectations from Indian batter Rahul Tripathi. However, the 34-years-old batter failed to live-up to the expectations. In 5 innings, Tripathi scored only 55 runs with a strike rate of 96.49. CSK will certainly include the former KKR and SRH batter in released players list to free-up INR 3.4 Crore.

Vijay Shankar

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) put in huge faith in local player Vijay Shankar to bat in the middle-order. However, he didn’t that well in the opportunities he got. In 5 inning, he scored 118 runs with his highest score of 69 runs off 54 balls coming against Delhi Capitals. CSK spent INR 1.2 Crore on him. Expect him to be released as well to further invest that in the IPL 2026 Mini Auction.

Devon Conway

New Zealand batter Devon Conway has been a great servant for the Chennai Super Kings in the 3 seasons he has played for the franchise. However, he delivered his worst performance in the IPL this season. He scored 156 runs in 6 innings and missed several matches due to injury. He didn’t play many impactful inning as his top score was 69 runs off 49 balls vs Punjab Kings. CSK management also lost faith in him as the season draw close. He was bought for INR 6.25 Crore and CSK would be looking to add that into the purse for the IPL 2026 Auction.

Deepak Hooda

Another Indian batter CSK showed faith in is Deepak Hooda. CSK included Hooda in the side for INR 1.7 Crore. However, his performance was nowhere near that level. He scored 31 runs in 5 matches with a strike rate of 75.61. Hooda is definitely going to be in CSK released players list for 2026 season.

Other Released Players: Jamie Overton, Nathan Ellis, Mukesh Choudhary.

While it was not as impactful as last year, Shivam Dube finished as the top run scorer for CSK in the IPL 2025 season. He scored 357 runs with a strike rate of 132.22. He will definitely be in CSK retained players list for IPL 2026 season with a salary of INR 12 Crore.

Ayush Mhatre came in as the injury replacement for CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad. He everyone with his brilliant performance despite being just 17. He scored 240 runs in 7 innings, and came close to scoring a century vs RCB. CSK is eligible to replace the batter for INR 30 Lakh.

Dewald Brevis went unsold in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. But, after CSK pacer Gurjapneet Singh was reportedly injured, the franchise wasted no time to get the services of the South African batter who is also well known as “Baby AB”. Brevis played a number of great innings for CSK as he scored 225 runs in 6 innings. CSK will be able to add Brevis in retained players list for 2026 for INR 2.2 Crore.

Noor Ahmad finished the IPL 2025 campaign as the top run scorer for the Chennai Super Kings with 24 wickets. The Afghanistan spinner impressed everyone with his performance, becoming a hero among CSK fans. Noor will certainly be in CSK’s retained players list 2026.

Left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed finished as the 2nd top wicket-taker for the CSK in the IPL 2025. Khaleel got off to a great start to the season, taking 10 wickets in the first 5 matches. However, his performance did take a dip as the season went on. But, he still finished the campaign with 15 wickets in 14 games. He is also expected to be in CSK retained players list for next season for INR 4.8 Crore salary.

It wasn’t the greatest of performance from Ravindra Jadeja, but it was an all-round performance. He had not so great time with the ball this season, taking 10 wickets in 14 matches. However, he made the most of his promotion in the batting-order as he scored 301 runs in 14 innings with a strike rate of 135.59. He will retained for INR 18 Crore for next season.
