The 31-year-old conceded 40 runs in his 3-over spell and didn’t look to be making any sort of impact. Mujeeb ur Rahman
Mumbai Indians signed Afghanistan spin bowler Mujeeb ur Rahman as the replacement for his fellow Countryman Allah Ghazanfar. Mumbai signed Mujeeb before even the league started. However, the off-spin bowler featured in only one match. It was against Gujarat Titans in which he took 1 wicket for 28 runs in 2 overs, conceding at an economy rate of 14.00. Mumbai will be looking to release the spinner and free up INR 2 Crore in their purse.

Jonny Bairstow

England signed English wicketkeeper opening batter Jonny Bairstow as an injury replacement for Ryan Rickelton. Bairstow played two valuable knocks of 47 and 38 runs in the Eliminator and Qualifier 2 respectively. However, he was signed as a temporary replacement after the IPL 2nd half resumed. So Mumbai Indians cannot retain the English batter. So he will be in MI released players list.

Charith Asalanka
Mumbai Indians signed Sri Lankan batsman Charith Asalanka as a replacement for English batter Will Jacks. However, the Sri Lankan batter didn’t feature in a single match for MI in IPL 2025. He was also signed after 2nd half of the IPL 2025 season resumed as a temporary replacement, so Mumbai Indians cannot retain him.

Richard Gleeson
Mumbai Indians also signed English medium pacer Richard Gleeson as a temporary replacement. He replaced South African Corbin Bosch. Star Indian batsman Suryakumar Yadav will be one of the first names in the Mumbai Indians retained players list. The India T20I captain had a wonderful IPL 2025 campaign as he finished as the 2nd top scorer with 717 runs in the tournament. Mumbai Indians will retain his services for INR 16.35 Crore.
Despite a difficult start to the campaign, Rohit Sharma ended the season really well. The former India captain scored 418 runs in the tournament while opening the inning. Rohit Sharma will continue to be part of Mumbai Indians setup with INR 16.3 Crore salary.
Ryan Rickelton on his debut season for the Mumbai Indians, impressed everyone with his scintillating batting up top for MI alongside the veteran Rohit Sharma. Rickelton scored 388 runs in 14 matches and missed the playoffs as he joined the South African team. However, Mumbai will retain the South African for INR 1 Crore Salary.
