Gujarat Titans performed exceeding well during the league phase of the IPL 2025 season. But, they lost to Mumbai Indians in the eliminator match. The Titans will be looking to make a strong comeback. And it all starts with the Gujarat Titans (GT) Released and Retained Players List 2026.
The Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans had a wonderful run of form in the league stage. They won 9 league stage matches and lost 5. However, with Jos Buttler’s departure to join the England team, GT lost to Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator.
Gujarat Titans (GT) Released and Retained Players List 2026
Although the Titans performed really well, there are still some changes needed in the team. Let’s have a look at Gujarat Titans (GT) Released and Retained Players List 2026.
GT Released Players List
Rahul Tewatia
32-year-old Rahul Tewatia was one of the players who were retained by the Gujarat Titans before the mega auction for INR 4 Crore. However, he had a very disappointing campaign. Due to the success of the top 3 batters, Tewatia didn’t get many opportunities and in 12 innings, he scored only 99 runs. There is a lot of chance that Rahul Tewatia will be included in the GT Released Players List 2026.
RUNS | INNINGS | STRIKE RATE | AVERAGE |
99 | 12 | 167.80 | 12.38 |
Kagiso Rabada

South African pace bowler Kagiso Rabada didn’t have a great season. He missed most of the matches due to personal reasons, and in the 4 matches he played, he didn’t enjoy bowling at the venue. He took only 2 wickets and conceded at over 11 economy rate. GT would look to add INR 10.75 Crore by releasing the pacer.
WICKETS | INNINGS | STRIKE RATE | ECONOMY |
2 | 4 | 42.00 | 11.57 |
Gerald Coetzee
Another South African pacer who didn’t have a great time in Ahmedabad was Gerald Coetzee. After signing for INR 2.4 Crore, Coetzee also took 2 wickets in 4 matches with an economy rate of 10.92. Coetzee is also likely to be included in the GT released players list 2026.
WICKETS | INNINGS | STRIKE RATE | ECONOMY |

Karim Janat
Gujarat Titans signed Afghanistan all-rounder Karim Janat for the IPL 2025 season to boost their all-rounders’ department. However, he was mostly a fringe player and didn’t feature in a single match for the Titans. Although he was bought for just INR 75 Lakh, the Titans might want to have a look at a different profile in the IPL 2026 auction.

GT Retained Players List 2026
Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill is going to be one of the top players to be included in the GT retained players list 2026. The new India captain had a good season as he scored 650 runs in 15 innings. He is set to continue as the captain of the franchise in the IPL 2026 season.
Sai Sudharsan won the Orange Cap for scoring the most runs in the IPL 2025 season, with 759 runs in 15 innings. The batters were consistently good throughout the season and are touted as one of the next big things. Sudharsan was retained ahead of the mega auction for INR 8.5 Crore. He will also continue with the franchise.
Jos Buttler‘s addition to the team just further boosted the performance of Gujarat Titans. He was signed for INR 15.75 Crore in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction and finished as the team’s third top scorer with 538 runs. He missed the Eliminator match vs Mumbai, which eventually the Titans lost. Buttler will undoubtedly be in GT retained players list 2026.
Prasidh Krishna won the Purple Cap for taking the most wickets in the IPL 2025 season, with 25 wickets in 15 matches. He was signed for INR 9.5 Crore in the Mega Auction and will definitely continue with the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2026 season.
Mohammed Siraj was signed from Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and he played a great supporting role for Krishna this season. Siraj took 16 wickets in 15 matches. His performance went a bit downhill in the later stage of the season, but he will also continue and will be included in GT retained players list.
Gujarat Titans’ star Afghanistan spin bowler Rashid Khan had his worst-ever IPL season. The bowler was struggling from the very first match of the season. He picked only 9 wickets in 15 matches. Yet, his value cannot be undermined. A player of Rashid’s quality is huge for any team and Gujarat Titans certainly won’t make a mistake releasing the Afghan player.
